Rockshaft control valve question

I picked up my new-to-me 5' brush hog today. After unloading it from my truck, I hitched it up to my 955 to move it into the barn. I noticed that after picking it up with the 3PH (full weight of the cutter on the 3PH) the rockshaft control valve lever has a lot of resistance to movement. Is this normal?

Can't say I've never noticed that. The work is done solely by hydraulics and I can't see how the lever would be affected. You might try opening and/or closing the rockshaft drop rate knob a bit.

Have you noticed this with any other implements?

I haven't noticed it either and my BH weighs 1500#. My old 2720 lifted my Woods 5' hog with no resistance in the handle whatsoever.

Yes I have noticed on my 755 if you pick up something very heavy 500 plus pounds the 3pth lift lever feels a little different. It does add resistance.

Good to know. It can make it more difficult to lower objects without "jerking" things around, but this is easily compensated by adjusting the rate-of-drop valve. Thanks....

What your describing is common my Ford 1910 also got jumpy with a lot of weight on the 3pth too. I think the ford was worse then the JD 755.
