I love my 3240 and was wondering how many hours they usually put on their units each year, how old it is, and what they normally do with it.

I see a great variation of yearly use with the cut's with some that use it very little and others that use it a lot.

Just trying to distinguish light residential use as opposed to more farm or commercial use.

For me;

L3240, 2 years old with 300 hours.
Use;
Loader and box blade work 40%
Bush hogging 7 acres 30%
Plowing and harrowing 20%
Carry all or general purpose 10%
I use mine more as a construction / landscaping role rather than a property maintenance roll, washed it once but maintain it well and is always in the equipment shed.
Love the machine but it almost seems too fancy for my roll but I ain't given it up now that i am spoiled! :D

The 200 hour service light just came on in my almost 2-year old L4740. I was using it close to 140 hours a year until last winter when I had back problems that slowed me down for a long time. Now that I'm seriously back in the game, I hope to get back up to about that level of use, if not more. I've started taking it over to the farm and using it for mowing and spraying as well as using the grapple to clear downed trees and occasionally move hay. This winter I'll be back down in "the thicket" trying to clear some of it up. During the summer I use it in town to cut the 5 acre lot belonging to the local library every couple of weeks.

To be honest, I still put more hours on the B2400 (about 150hr/yr) around the house than I do on the L4740 but I do love that cab during the summer and when I just need more weight and horses to pull brush and saplings during the winter.

I suppose my use would break down as follows:

70% of the time - bush hogging
20% of the time - moving stuff and pulling saplings and brush
5% of the time - spraying
5% of the time - dirt work.

Bought in mid-July 2009. Just turned 100 hours last week. Probably put more miles in the Grand 40 than I did on my Goldwing this year. I know I put more seat time in the cab than on the saddle. :D

Burried the old barn my dad made his living and fed us kids with. Dig up a stump left when a tornado blew down a 50 foot oak. Brush Hogged the fields and pastures a few times now. Resurfaced the driveway. Raked it twice. Landscaped the field and made more grass to cut. Put in a new driveway for my neighbor.

I could go on, but you get the picture. On the weekends I wake up, get dressed, get in the cab, turn on some tunes and play. I look forward to retiring so I can spend more time in the cab. :rolleyes:

I got it b-a-d... :)

I have a little over 20 hrs on my L4400HST since I bought it last November 2008. Brush hogged the pasture, used it to move raised veggie beds I built for the wife, moved material for her chicken coop into place, spread out about 45 tons of gravel for driveway & shop building (more to be done), stirred up compost pile (regular basis), and removed a fallen tree that was blocking our dead end road and threatening power service (emergency job).
A very capable tractor and great practice for me! Mike.

165 hours on my 2007 L3240GST - I honestly thought it was more.
Primary use has been for brush hogging, and rototilling during the warm season and rearblading snow during the not so warm season.
Other hours on it include hauling brush, hauling tree trunks out of the woods and cut firewood to the woodpile.
This weekend will see the subsoiler get a workout, if it dries out a little more. I have to do an oil change first.

L4240 purchased 12/07 have about 180 hours on it. I purchased it with a backhoe, FEL, and bushhog. Later I added a Markham grapple. Love the tractor and more so to play on it. I have used it to create a pad for the camping trailer on our land, create a pad for a future pole barn, dig out trees, stumps and haul brush, and to bushog. My only disappointment is not having more time to play on it.

I bought my L4200GST in '05 with 2000 hours on it. Now it has about 2400. Just washed it today too :).

L3540, bought new in April/09. Used mainly for mowing this past summer, both RFM and rough cut. Some rototilling, blading gravel roads with rear blade. This winter I will be using the loader and rear blade for snow removal. So far I have enjoyed 95 hours in the cab.

L3240 cab bought new August 2008 now have 356 hours on it and still runs like new. I have always serviced it by the book and I have to say what a this has been a tuff little tractor.
