Has anyone use the roof kit with another rope tied to your truck. I'm thinking of doing this or just having a rope with me tied to my truck so I can hang onto it while on my metal roof. I'm leery about going on my shop roof without having something hang to. Pollen almost caused to slide off. Still need to check the screws and redge cap. I'm thinking about having spray foam coating put on roof so it will seal any and all leaks and I won't have to get up there any more.

I would ensure that the truck/ute has a good & working parking brake (that is applied) and that you have the only set of keys for the truck/ute in your pocket when you go up on the roof.

Go for it! I'm always concerned of leaving little pieces of meat on each screw head more than falling off the edge

tie to some thing that is stationary, not the truck

I see no reason not to use the truck. Have a spotter and tell them not to move or get in or out of the truck while you are toed to it.

I have put the bottom of my ladder in the truck and tied it down to get on the roof. It's more secure than the soft ground. Wife stepped on the tailgate once while I was on the ladder and made it move a little. I make sure she knows to stand away now.

For my house I throw the rope over the top and tie off on a porch support and attach the work belt to that.

Lost a co worker that fell off cleaning leaves. May be worth it to just hire a pro.
