Tractor
Kubota L3010, Kubota KX 41-3 Excavator Upgraded to Kioti DK65S with cab and Farmi winh
The grapple came today and of course the fittings were different than what I had on the tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Off and running to get the right ones just in time for a couple of photos.

Oh, I was warned NEVER to move the tractor with the door wide open as once broken, they are very expensive to replace. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The DK65S handles the grapple like it is not even there.

how much was the grapple unit? and where did you purchase it?

wish i had one a year ago - restoring 3a. of overgrown fields w/o that attachment meant lots of in/out of the tractor to chain things to the FEL for easier removal.

Thanks for the pics. That grapple is one mean looking addition. I can just imagine how much better you'll move stuff with that!
For those that want interior pics, I plan to do a bunch of DK65S pics this week. Look for the thread "Extensive DK65S Pics" in a few days. John

I forgot to tell about the grapple. I got it from Unlimited Fabrication, LLC in North Carolina.

They make three sizes and strengths. Mine is the 72" heavy duty one and it also has the bolt on shaft protection. They come with the cylinder and hoses protected and offer as a bolt on option a shaft cover.
I did much research and looked at several offered on Ebay but found this one to be the strongest at the most reseanable price. The heavy duty 72" grapple sells for $1600 and they have fantastic shipping rates.
I also had tines placed in between the main tine points so I could pickup all of the rocks not just the bolders. The don't call New Hampshire the granite state for nothing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Thanks,
Gary

tell me about it.. i'm in s/w NH and know all too well why we call it the granite state.

thx for the info - i'm going to purchase this same unit before i start restoration on the next field. i think the shipping rates will be similar due to our close proximity to one another.

Thanks for the info on this root grapple. I am ordering a Heavy Duty 72" model. I haven't found a better price on anything comparable including the shipping cost. will be putting this on a NH TC55DA

There you go running that beautiful dog down again, calling it names like "wicked lookin." /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Have you had any issues at all with that grapple that you'd care to discuss? I sure do like it, but it would be a real weight overkill on my little CK20. Maybe on the next one.

Could be time to get a little down & dirty with the grapple too & post some more pics!
Sure does make a hansome looking tractor look kinda mean & nasty doesn't it.
Still it does look like you really mean business.

I want one too!

The only problem I can see with the grapple is, he won't let me play with it as much as I like, belongs to LTEnterprises. Maybe it's just pay back time. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif That would look cool on your CK20, but you may have a problem with the 7xx lbs. weight.

I like the hook up from the grapple to the loader..... I just ordered a DK65s for myself to use.

Is the aux. hydraulics already on the loader to use the grapple? If not.... what do I need?

I also have a skid steer so I want the hydraulics to be a flat face coupler just like my LS 190 New Holland skid steer.

osconda,

I have the same tractor and am looking for a root grapple also. I'd be very interested in some pics and what you did with the hydraulics to get it hooked up once you have yours in place.

I used the rear remote hydraulics..I had 2 line made with quick disconnects and nylon strapped them under the tractor.
I pull up on the rear hyd lever to open / push down to close..works great..it's really simple to run the lines. I put them at the upper part of the loader frame, I just grab the connectors, plug em together and away I go..I have the QA and I dont even fret connecting / disconnecting / changing front attachments..I can get a TON of stuff done reall fast too ! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
