I have 3 acres of land which we recently cleared. It was a thick forest and all the stumps were removed and a root rake was used to clean it up pretty well.

What we have left is a ton of small roots left over sticking up from the ground and need some ideas on the best way to remove them.

I was wondering if disking the ground, and then raking would work ok?

We plan on evenually planting centepide over the entire area.

Thanks!

I have the same situation after a recent property restructure due to a gas well drilling. I'm here as a interested observer! All help is appreciated........

How small? If they are so small as to not interfere with the smoothing of the land then I would leave them and just expect the first mowing to be a little rough. They will rot out in time. If they are so big that you can't smooth the grade and/or the mower will be damaged then you are going to need to rake them out. A heavy disc will chop them up into smaller bits.
