ROPS for a Kubota GL-21 from American Kubota?

Does anyone know if the ROPS off an American market Kubota would fit a Japanese market GL-21? I found a few 'botas that look very similar to the GL-21 but none have any real good pictures of the connection point for the ROPS.

Also, does anyone know where there might be a tractor salvage yard that would have late model salvage tractors? I searched the internet and got a bunch of yards that deal in older tractors and I understand there probably aren't a whole lot that deal with newer tractors as there probably aren't too many of the newer tractors that need scrapped out. Surely one or two have to specialize in that sort of thing though. Anyone know of one? I'd like to buy a ROPS for my tractor since I live on a pretty good size hill and will be doing loader work.

If all else fails I guess I could design my own but I'd like to get a used one if possible.

Does anyone know how easy it would be for a visitor to Japan to get manuals for a tractor originally sold over there? I know someone who might be going in the near future. I can have it translated once I have it if needed but I would prefer an English copy if possible.

You won't get much help on here for Kubota's as they are the black sheep of the grey markets. Try the Kubota forum. Good luck.

Thanks for that tid bit. I wondered if I should post up there or not but I figured I would err on the "grey" side, LOL. Most grey owners seem to be pretty open minded. I know Kubota is dead set against the greys and I didn't want to get up in the "legitimate" Kubota forum and get booed and hissed at.

There is an NOS Kubota ROPS on Ebay right that you may be able to alter. It comes in several pieces so part of it may fit and just modify the pieces you have to.

Turns out it is non-folding. I don't think I'd be able to get it in my garage!

I guess I could always trim it down but I'd want it to stick up above my head quite a bit I would think.

West Kebtucky Tractor parts has 'em for $200 + shipping. They are supposed ot be sending pistures of what they have and the mounting areas in particular.

Update....

WKYTP doesn't have folding ROPS at this time. It's beginnning to look more and more like this is going to be a "government" project.

I guess I'll just have to over-engineer it to make sure it's enough to keep me safe!
