I thought the rotary beacon would be permanently attached, it's not. It's magnetically attached to a metal plate and plugs in... can be used elsewhere, if needed. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice beacon Marty. That's one option I didn't get. How's your Pioneer stereo sound. I installed a Pioneer stereo in min ebut have been somewhat disappointed in the speakers New Holland supplied. I'm thinking of installing a headphone jack so that I can use a pair of Noise Cancelling headphones and also use it when I'm on the backhoe. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hi Andy,

The stereo is nice, but tinny sound/high-pitched static coming from the right speaker. I thought about getting better speakers and decided I'll contact the dealer to get the defective speaker replaced first, then expect the speakers to be OK for my use.

Last night I researched wireless headphones. The Amphony 2000 2.4GHz Digital /300' range and Sennheiser RS-65 Wireless Headphones is what I liked best... then returned to reality /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thought of connecting wireless headphones to the stereo's rear speakers connection in case I wanted to FADE-out the front speakers.

Cost-wise, my Pioneer DEH-P4600MP, transmitter & wireless headphones would run about $50 more than what dealers charge for the NH (audiovox) AM/FM Cassette player... and that would be pretty sweet. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Other attachments have more priority now... hey, this is my first cab tractor... right now I appreciate any music!... and heat! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif - Little worried about safety & wearing headphones.

My problem doesn't have to do with the speakers being noisy or tinny, but rather just the lack of them being able to deliver anything approaching full spectrum sound loud enough to overcome the engine noise. I worked for Bose for many years designing audio products one of which was their first car stereo. One of these days I'm going to try a few things in the cab to see what I can do. I hadn't really thought of wireless headphones, I was going wired. I want music when I'm on the backhoe. I wear an AO noise cancelling set of headphones on my 2120 and have not seen any safety issues.
Have fun with the TN. And yes the heated (and AC'd cab) is a nice change.

Andy,

The manual says the TN75D 4WD with cab doors and windows closed; maximum noise level at the steering wheel at 18.64 mph is 80 dB. – that’s full throttle. RPMs are low compared to this during loader work.

I'd like to know the actual dB level in the cab during operation - would be nice for NH to add this on the RPM display.

I used the bucket to push snow Saturday night in low gear, 4WD and differential locked at times (just flipping a rocker-switch is cool!) /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif had rpms up a little, but sound (bass preset) rattled through my veins, though Pink Floyd may not be the typical tune heard in these things /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Wonder if we have the same make/model speakers?

Andy, part of my enjoyment with tractors, is hearing them run… especially at auctions (like MacFadden’s http://www.macfaddens.com/auctions.html in Sharon Springs) where many tractors are running simultaneously. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Even with the thunder of rumbles, popping and backfires… everyone hears when another tractor starts up. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

BTW: the lighting is excellent with the headlights, sidelights, front and rear worklights - can see completely around the tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

- Today my son and I worked on trimming small branches along our roads. He used clippers or a small chain-saw from the bucket, while I operated the TN. We used cheap COBRA FRS-225 2-way radios to communicate. Heard each other fine, except when he ran the saw. Then, the horn would get his attention.
