Rotary Cutter Rotary Cutter Tailwheel replacement.

Anyone know where to get a decent price on a Massey 2005 Rotary Cutter Tailwheel and frame assembly, without paying the "dealer" price?

I'm guessing they are a fairly generic item.

Tractor Supply keeps them on the shelf where I live. I would measure the old one and then check the TSC one out. What happened to yours?

Ditto on TSC. Ours has them (for King Kutter mowers) Most mowers nowdays are VERY simular. Also, they're available thru Valu-Bilt via UPS. Entire assembly is $102.99 part# 1233782, Segmented wheel only, $55.69, part# 1234384.

That's good news that TSC has the tailwheels in stock.

The bad news is that the closest TSC is 541 miles away in the Peoples Republic of Kahl-eeee-forn-eeeee-aaa. I'll look into the valu-bilt alternative as it's $50 cheaper than what the dealer wants.

TSC bought out the small mom and pop chain of stores up here. Gone downhill ever since, they carry more clothes and toys now and less stuff you might actually need. I wish TSC would just go ahead and open up full blown stores in this state.


As far as what happened to the tailwheel.....I was backing into some blackberry vines (situation prevented going forward through this area) and the wheel hit a small but deep hole just perfect. That was all she wrote, cracked the plate that bolts to the wheel and tweaked the frame.

For $50 you could buy an old AC welder and fix it yourself. A sledge hammer to straighten and the welder to mend. Hide the patch with paint. Now you have the beginning of a whole new world....
