Tractor
Branson 4225h, Mahindra 2516, several Toro Wheel Horse 522xi machines.
Will my 4225h be able to handle the 900 lb. WEIGHT of an 84" Offset Rotary Cutter?

(FYI the tractor CAN deliver the cutter's 35hp minimum suggested PTO power)

What does your tractor Op Manual say about rotary cutter weight limits.

With tires filled with liquid and the loader on, you should have no problem. Just be cautious on inclines.

I second what K5 said.

Tires NOT filled.

-I mow 20 flat acres.
-Tractor did not come with an OP manual. I have no idea what the Branson rotary cutter weight limits are.

Hey ArnoldZiffel. Are you talking about a partial offset rotary cutter or a side cut type (total offset) for ditch banks? Also, what does the seller say?

It is a Land Pride, RCD 1884 offset cutter with 10" fixed offset.

I wouldn't worry about it.
I also would not fill the tires,
especially for brush hogging you will be carrying much of the mowers weight.
Between the design of the mower it being almost a cross between a finish type and a rush hog,
it could be looking for a bit more hp then you will have if so you will just need to slow down
or raise the mower and go over it twice.
Nice mower for maintaining open areas.

Flat land and only 10 inch offset, zero issues and no filled tires needed.

Your tractor has a bare chassis weight of 4200 lbs.

Are you running with a front end loader (FEL), or not?

You may need to run with either the FEL on, or a weight bracket and hang suitcase type weights on the front end, to keep the load balanced. I say "may" because with only running on completely flat ground, it may not be necessary. It just may cause your front tires to get light when you steer in a turn. Try it to find out. You may also find that if you're using your split brakes to turn, there is no issue at all.

I'm running the same chassis, with a cab and filled rear tires. I have always left my FEL on, with either the bucket (mostly) or forks on it. Where I mowed most frequently was slight rolling pasture, but with a couple of road ditches that got very steep in a few places. I never had any issues with being light on the front end, even on hills and climbing slopes.

However, I was running a 6' brush hog with no offset. There will be some differences, obviously. But where you are flat ground, I was contending with slopes too.

I think you'll be fine. I also think your rear 3 pt is rated to lift over 3K lbs.

Here is a link to the thread where Asteral posted up most of the manuals for Branson tractors. I know the service manual for the 25 series is on there, but don't know if the owners manual for the 25 is listed.
