Mowing Rotary Cutter too heavy for 4225h.

It is a Land Pride, RCD 1884 offset cutter with 10" fixed offset.

Agree with the guys who say it should be no problem at all. I thought you might be talking a side cut type which would be a different story. I agree with Slim that it would probably be better (not necessary) to have the FEL attached to counterbalance the fulcrum (the rear axle).

Also if you look closely at the Land Pride link you provided you'll see where they have it attached to a Kubota MX5200...

I'm hoping 35 pto horsepower is adequate. That's the minimum Land Pride recommend.

Thoughts on power? Will it strain the hydro too much?

If the tractor struggles to power the mower you can go slower.

I'd like to have a thermometer on the trans oil but there's a big cooler in front of the radiator.
I'm only using a 5' mower but I'm mowing up steep hills in middle range. It handles it ok.

I'm running a 6 footer on 32 pto hp and I don't have any issues. The only time I have to slow down is when the grass gets very thick and gets hood high or higher. Just brush is usually no issue, as it's not as tightly clumped together like heavy grass can be. I have to slow down more for the roughness of the terrain than I do for the cutting power of the tractor. I'm not really a fan of beating myself to death on rough pastures, just so I can "go fast".

And as Eric says, you can always just slow your ground speed a little if you get into some really heavy & tall stuff.
