hi folks..gravelman here..im thinking of buying a Kodiak 5' HD rotary cutter... any advice or info out there. I need an easy to change blade cutter...getting too old to be climbing under stuff. thanks

He is an independent used equip dealer in Mass... he has a mower will few hours on it... im not sure what he wants for it and i don't know..yet, how much a new one is..

im guessing it will be under $2000 im just wondering how easy it is to change blades...

Kodiak makes them for Mahindra.... slip clutch ?

Can't see a removable plate cover on those mowers..... to undo bolts from the top.....

Kodiak uses a 1 1/4 bolt to hold each blade on. The nut's on the top and there is an access hole in the deck. I can't find a torque spec in the manual but it's probably lots.

Someone posted some pics a while back of the Woods blade fixture that looks much easier to deal with.

one way or another it looks like a two man job no matter whos mower it is

There should be a way to do it with one person. Perhaps strapping the blade to be removed to the center carrier before using an impact wrench on the nut.

Yes i have done it by myself as all of you probably have...one extra pair of hands to start the top nut is always helpful.

Call Chappell tractor and get a price on the woods cutter...can't hurt..........

ok i can do that...i have a feeling Woods is on the pricey side...im not going to be using this much... just some choppin now and then so im kinda leaning toward cheap....

Believe me...truer words were never spoken...i usually live by that but im gettn a bit cheap in my old age... thanks for that tho...it is VERY true
