deeere 2032r
Hello newbie here looking for advice on a rotary mower to use on a 2032r. The mower will be used to maintain woods, trails, and fields that if bad enough will be mowed prior to with a Bobcat T750 and a Brushwolf M-AX. The reason I'm intrested in an tractor unit it cost so much to run the CTL and mower fuel and wear and tear. We don't have a lot of rocks around but the skid steer does leave some tree shreds prolly in the 1-1 1/2" size laying around. I know i need the heaviest duty cutter i can get that the tractor can handle. I was intrested in a used deere MX5 for $1500 but am concerned that its to much weight possibly? So my next thought is a bush hog squealer sq160, next option woods BB60X Brushbull, or Land Pride RCF2060. I like the idea of smooth decks its a pain in the butt to keep the top of the Brush Wolf unit clean. I've searched and read as much as I can and some say they love this cutter and others this one and some problems on brand x and some on brand Y. I know deere has the resale value but can the 2032r handle an MX5. Let me here your opinions good or bad. Thanks

Bush Hog, Rhino, Woods and other manufacturers of heavy duty and medium duty cutters also have a line of light duty cutters. Just buying a brand name doesn't assure you of getting a cutter that will handle the brush you have. I would look at one of those quality manufacturers, but also make sure you are not buying one of their cheap light duty models.

Your tractor has approx 23 PTO HP. The BB60X is rated for 25-50HP, so you are just slightly below the minimum HP for it. Your tractor might handle it fine in light cutting, but would likely bog down in heavy stuff.

After talking to the deere salesman he thinks the MX5 would be to heavy, which as much as I don't want to admit it probably is. I think I'm down to a Bush Hog or Landpride. I think i want chains so need to get pricing between the two with chains, new. Anybody know what the difference is in the BH SQ160, and the BH15? Both appear to be rated about the same weight the same and both have 11ga decks. The Landpride seems to have a higher blade tip speed. Kinda like the looks of this used unit below, depending on where a new one comes in priced at, whatcha thinks?
