Help! What is a good quality brush mower for a 30hp. orange tractor. Does a slip clutch option cost more? I need some input on brands. Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

pumpkin,
Find yourself a dealer for Midwest mowers. I've seen all sizes and "series" of them up close. Well worth the time to find one. Midwest Mowers
Have on idea where you are in relationship to a nearby dealer but check them out.

Slip clutch option sometimes cost approx $100 depending on the dealer. Some include it in the price and you never know /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I have seen Midwest brush cutters too........great looking products.

What kind of price range for a 5' mower? Do they have different grades of duty, like heavy, light. Or is it the quality built in to the brand? Thanks

I have a 60" Land Pride cutter. This is a extremely robust unit. Although I'm running it on a pretty small tractor, it's doing a heck of a nice job.
It was definitely worth the thousand I spent on it.
If it works well on my little 670, it should go a great job on your 30 HP Kubota. You might even look at a 72" version...

This is a 5 ft "Big Bee" that we have sold for many years and just like the Timex watch "take a licking and just keep on ticking", made in Red Bay, Alabama by DH Enterprises--under $800 Delivered to 18 wheeler accessable business/commercial address in most zip codes in your state or add $30 for residential delivery--either way, you get free lift gate for easy offloading and freight company will call you before delivery--standard features are: extra top deck bracing/Slip clutch/stumpjumper/flexhitch and laminated tailwheel---Shearpin model is $100 less--Ken Sweet

Bush hog builds a model called the Squealer and yes, the slip clutch is more by about a hundred.

A Midwest RC20-60 with the same Gear Box as D Harpe plus Powder Paint and modular deck design. R&L Carriers will deliver with a free lift-gate service. All this for Hundreds of $$ less than other manufacturers.

When I need to know the lowest prices of a product in the market I look at the web site of Agri-Supply. They usually have many different models from each implement. I just looked at Rotary Mowers at Agri-Supply and saw that the price of 3 Pt. Rotary Cutter with 40HP Gearbox (I think this is shear pin clutch) is for $735 - I am expecting from them soon to introduce a similar mower (40hp, 5') with a slip clutch for less than $500-600. It seems that no one can compete them Agri Supply in the price, except this nomad who can make a home-built of same mower for less than $400;-) -
