I'm looking to get a machine that will break up rocky, compacted soil for manual excavation/grading in confined/limited access situations and trailbuilding applications.
I have found a used BCS 716 at a decent price on the local listserv that comes with a standard tiller.
I also found a used BERTA rotary plow which id like for its increased digging depth and ability to handle rocky soils.
I checked the compatibility chart and my question is this;
It is not stated to fit the 716 on the compatibility chart. Would the BERTA plow in fact fit my 716?
If the power is going to be an issue, how big of a power swap can I do on the tranny, and will it be enough?
I do like the 716 because it appears to have a smaller footprint than the bigger machines, and we do have a shortage of storage space to contend with.
I did a search on several sites but this kind of info seems to be getting harder to find.
Thanks for your inputs,'
