Hi All,

We are going to attempt to convert our Kubota Turfbuster tiller from forward rotation to reverse rotation.

We spend more tme backing the tractor up just for the superior finished product.

Woods Equipment Company - Reverse Rotation Tillers

Any ideas or tips are appreciated. As usual, when we get around to doing it, pics will be posted.

Reverse tilling works great! I reversed my tiller by flipping the transfer case over and rotating 180 degrees. When running forward, it would jump and bounce on rocks & other debris (brush stumps). In reverse (or counter rotating), it lifts rocks and roots up from underneath and finely mulches the soil. Watch out for rocks being thrown up at the back of your head.

That is why we reverse till with a forward tiller, nice clean soil.

So are you saying you unbolted your t-case, and flipped it upside down and bolted it back on again?? Would you have a pic handy??

I have a Howse Implement tiller, TILLER : Howse Implement Company, Your source for tractor and farm equipment parts and supplies
Easly to reverse and offset. Not a high quality tiller, but does the job. Their web site needs work also.
The rear shield is really necessary to keep the rocks out of my head. Reverse tilling will launch rocks upward at the operators head.
I used Lexan (polycarbonate) bolted to the ROPS. I added 10" of offset to leave the tiller fully behind the left wheel. A creeper gear would be nice, my NH TN65 is a little too fast at times, even in the slowest gear.

had to. On mine an old Massy 48 we, had to lower the tiller away from the housing or frame to allow the rocks to pass we put a wheel on the back for depth control first one then two .We lived on heavy clay sticky . I find the discussions on this site very helpful When I looked at McCaskey痴 tiller I see that he had a lot les modification to do than I most times it was only me and my crazy idea.

If it was a gear drive That would make some sense. But if its a chain drive, you need to also change sides of the tensioner. You must have had to flip all the tines around?
