I have a JD 4500 4wd. Any suggestions on a rotor tiller? Make, Model, Price, where to buy, etc.

Love the group /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

check the Deere branded tillers...competitively priced with other major brands..and parts are usually available years down the road...

I use a King Kutter II 60" tiller behind my Ford 1700 (24 PTO HP), and its been a solid performer for me.

I paid $1000 for mine from Tractor Supply.

The 48 inch "First Choice" at $1095 will be hard to beat when features, price and quality are all compared. 56-60 inch are in stock also--Ken Sweet

i noticed that Mr. Sweet suggested a FC 48 inch or 60 inch tiller... The tillers in the photo are to light duty for a Deere 4500... you will require a heavier duty model... edv

I have no idea which is best for this man's needs, but I would be interested to know why you say they're not heavy duty enough. Will the tractor tear it up because it's light or medium duty? John

I have a KingKutter 60" tiller $1058.63 at TSC. My Kubota is 21 engine HP and it pulls it great, even in dry clay. Love it, great service so far. also has 1 yr parts and labor warranty. Most others I checked on in that price range were only 90 days. Thats why I chose it over other tillers from my regular dealer.

Bulverde,

You'll love a 3ph tiller, especially if you've used something like the typical 18" walk behind models.

Start by tilling slowly (low RPMS) and move in creeper gears. Once soil is broken loose for subsequent passes, rev it up! You can make powder, if you want to /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A little off-topic, but still in the ballpark...
