Rototiller for my ym1610D

I want to buy a rototiller for my ym1610d. I want a used one that is refurbished. The cheapest I have seen here in Texas was a yanmar 1300 for $749. Is it possible to get one cheaper?

That sounds like a real premium price for the Yanmar tillers. Around here you can get them from $250-$500. And $500 get a super clean model. Got mine for $300, it ain't pretty, but it tills the dirt.

From what I've seen, that $750 is in the right ballpark for a "refurbished/rebuilt" tiller with new bearings, seals, chain, etc. (maybe tines too, but I understand the original curved blade hardened ones are no longer available), and paint. I got my very nice used Yanmar RS1202 (48" wide 2-pt type) for only $250.00 but it was not refurbished and I had to convert it to 3-pt. You should be able to get a "good" used 3-pt Yanmar tiller for no more than $450 to $500 and probably a little less, from what I've seen advertised.

Larso how did you convert your tiller from two point to three point? I have a two point but don't have the correct attachment for my 1401D which has a three point hitch already on it. I would love to see some photos and here how it was done.

I missed the 'refurbished' comment. A new set of tines alone is about $150-$200 I think. So that price starts to make more sense.

Mine was not refurbished, and I'm willing to bet that with typical "homeowner" use, it has many years left in it.

I would consider getting a cheaper one that hasn't been refurbished and use it until it needs repair.

Hi AcreGarden,when I traded up my 1510 to a 1610d I kept the tiller which was a RS1202,I had to convert it to fit the 3pt,I took pics of it but am not computer saavey enough to post em.If somebody can walk me through the process I'll be happy to post em.

Uploading photos is real easy, as long as you know which one it is on your hard drive. First find the photo on your C: drive and write down its I.D./name. Then click on the "Reply" as you already have, scroll down and under the text entry window is titled "Additional Options" and the button "Manage Attachments." Click on this and then at the top of your screen you will click on "Browse" and find your file/photo. Click on it and then click on the "upload" button on the right. You're done. Now close the window and resume finishing your text message and submit the reply.
