RPM based hour meter for a BX

Does anyone know of a way to get an RPM based hour meter for a BX?

My usage is very mixed and I find myself varying RPM's often . I'd like to get a more objective measure of use than the original hour meter or the Tiny-Tach can provide. I hate being "charged" for all that time at less than full speed.

I am not sure of this but I think the hour meter is already RPM based on the BX - I know when I run at high RPM's - when doing backhoe work for instance - the hours rack up much quicker than when I am just putting around at half speed.

not sure about the hours, but the backhoe work seems faster since it is more FUN!

Right from the BX23 Operator's Manual (page 32)

"The hourmeter indicates in five digits the hours the tractor has been used; the last digit indicates 1/10 of an hour."

Wheras my former B7200 Operator's Manual (Page 14) reads

"The meter shows the number of hours the tractor has been operated at rated engine RPM."

The hour meter is based off of key time, when the key is on the hour is recording................its is not rpm based on the BX..........

Granted the BX hour meter counts faster than a tachometer based hour meter, but what differerce does it really make at the end of the day?

I suppose for resale it might make a difference. I certainly see the difference...my guess is that an hour on a tach driven hour meter on average takes about 1.5 or more hours to accumulate on a tach driven hour meter.

On the bright side, the true hour meter forces better maintence...or at least more freqent oil changes...
