RPM's anyone?

So, now with the Tiny Tach installed I can work on my Throttle Cable issue...

Terry had told me that the Deutz engine had a rev limiter and would not exceed 3000... Well, Mr. Tiny Tach says that my RPMS can hit 3500... I did so with the throttle cable off and just manually throwing the throttle around.

Anyone have any ideas on this? Should I run at that RPM?

Dear Carl,

I don't know if this helps, but on the 2011 series engines, there is a plate on the engine that lists its specs. Actually, mine has two; one in english and one in german. The german label has a little more information on it. I have attached a photo below.
My BF3L2011 has a 2800 rpm limit.

The Deutz specification sheets for the 2011 series show that the engine is nearly linear in power output to the redline number.

Just as an aside, fuel efficiency peaks at about 2100rpm, but it is a pretty flat curve.

In general, agricultural machinery are under enough stress from the pulsation(shocks) and the dirt that trying to push the redline tends to rapidly degrade engine life. At the same time, the engines are designed to run every day, all day.

Peter just sent me some info directly, and it states the motor is rated at 2800 RPM... Terry said 3K... Ohhhwell... Make me no never mind...

Thanks! Very nice video of how an engine in operation. I did not realize cylinders 1 & 4 and cylinders 2 & 3 were in sync with each other. What is the vertical pointed item in the middle of each cylinder at the top?

By the way that is a nice animation, but it isn't of the Deutz engines we have. That one has an intake injection system of ? Urea?
