I ordered some of the atv tires for my RTV 500 last fall and after way too long of waiting I called up the dealer and canceled my order. So I decided to surf the net for a deal on some new sneakers, seems like all the good ones are 25" and the stock RTV 500 tires are 24" so I grabbed the tape and started measuring things up...the stock tires are labeled 24" but only measure 23":mur: There was no way a true 25" tire was going to fit without modification so I decided to call another Kubota dealer further away....I lucked out and they had a set in stock, turns out they made a mistake and ordered the wrong tires for another guy's 900 and ended up getting tires for a 500 instead. :confused2: Worked out OK for me the tires and rims were $450 a set and I didn't have to wait.

Just a warning if you replace tires on your RTV 500 make sure you measure the new ones prior to purchase to make sure they'll fit.

Thanks Dixie for the "heads-up." I would put the Atv's style on mine but fear they would tear the yard up too much in wet weather.

I don't think you'd be disappointed in the atv tires, they aren't bad at all....I scooted around the yard quite a bit and they didn't tear up anything...the only time they tore at all was when I hit some soupy mud. The lawn and driveway didn't get any damage and it's still very wet from the snow melting up here.

I had ATV's on my 500 and they did no lawn damage..

most of the tires out there run about 3/4 of an inch shorter than the tire size says . if you was to put 25"tire on it they would have fit . you would probably only gained about 1" at the most in height. a few tires that run their true size are gorilla's/outlaws and terminators. there are a few more but not that many.i remeber when i ran 27"589's on my hpx when i measured them from what i remeber they just made it past the 26"mark.if you want a true tire size then buy the next size over and that should get you the true tire size yu want.my outlaws are 26"and most times i run them with little or no air pressure to make the flattest and widest tire contact i can.when i do that they are probably about the stock tire height of what they should be. now if i'm running in the spillway and need a bit more flotation then i pump them up to about 18 lbs of pressure and i would say they stretch out to 27". another thing to remeber is when you take the measurement of your tires on the utv or atv it's best to jack the utv up so the tire is just touching the ground and the utv is not compressing it that will give you the real height of the tire.

Just wanted to add that the orginal style (not the 2.0 version) Maxxis BigHorn ATV tires run considerably larger than their stated size. 25" tires measure about 25.5" tall while 26" measure about 26.75" tall.

FYI, FWIW...

I have the ATV Tires too.

Ditto; the rear differential in 2X4 with the Xfer unlocked really saves tread and turf.

If I want to turn over soil, I put er in 4X4 and lock the differential, she really grabs. :licking:

My next set will be "AG" tires if I can find em, I have a set for the wife's craftsman mower, what a difference.

Heck yeah, thats what I'd buy when I wear out this set.....

I love everything about new mud grips....the sound, the smell, the looks, the foot-print, the throw-off.........

I lust..........:licking:

The best thing about having these AG tires on the mower is the front wheels come off the ground (a little) when I climbing a hill.

On the 6 ply ATV tires; I have to keep a little too much air in them (for my liking) to prevent air from seeping around the bead. I prefer 2-3 psi. But they work great.
