Was putting a coolant hose back on my RTV that had worked it way loose somehow and noticed some wires under the seat and was wondering what they went to. There is one purple wire, then another bundle a little lower with a red/yellow wire and a couple blacks i think. Anybody have any clue what these are. Hopefully got coolant leak stop, had noticed a little drop under it last week and today road it hot enough to make it steam.

Buck,

Wondered the same thing on my previous RTV500...Guessing they are for dealer installed lights etc. I never bothered to check them as I added all of the electical stuff aftermarket, and wired it all direct.....

There are some serious 500 owners on this thread, so I'm sure one of them will have your answer.

I dono either, I will go out and look tomorrow.

My hunch is that they are for the work lights. I ran mine differently so I'm not sure.

Black accross the board is the ground, more to follow.

The only solid purple wire listed in the shop manual goes to the coolant temp sensor. Is this just a loose end wire?

Every yellow/red wire I found on the schematic was a switched power source, careful what you hook up to it as it's only a 5 amp fused source.

I looked today and found the same facts on mine.

Much wisdom on the y/r wire D-Dog; I tried to use that y/r for my work-lights, it blew the fuze so fast, it also shut down my winch relay too.

I suspected my lights addition but I didn't know for sure, I thought it was the winch relay (another mind-boggler). I called tech-spt at WARN in Clackamas, they helped me over the phone. "Tough-love" help, but all is fixed now.

The fuze did its job; no fire eh?

I found a schematic on line back when I was in my "darkest 5amp fuze hours" and hooking up my tach:

There are a few good companies out there, these folks are no exception. I hope this helps.
