I have a RTV 900. I want to run a splitter off of it. It has the hydraulic remotes on the back. The output is slow using the standard hydraulics.

The pump mounted on top of the transmission looks like a standard SAE A 2 bolt mount.

Can I replace the existing pump with a standard two stage splitter a bolt pump? Does anyone know what the shaft/drive on the standard pump looks like? It is too cold outside in the shop to pull it appart, especially if someone else already has done it. Will the drive of the existing pump handle the additional HP required to run a bigger pump.

Has anyone done this?

I know it will void warranty... not worried about that... it was long gone.

When you say the output is Slow I am not sure what you mean. On my 09 worksite model when you pull the dump leaver it goes up supper fast also have installed quick disconects for my snow plow and when it's hooked up the power angle feature is way fast to fast in my opinion.

You are right... the dump bed operates at a nice speed. But when you plug the log splitter into the remote outputs (instead of the dump bed) the splitter runs slow as the log splitter is probably 3X the size of the dump cylinder.

Does any one know the GPM or cc output of the aux. pump which operates the bed?

On the Canadian site they list it as 5GPM.
My Speeco 34 ton spliter is 16GPM, big difference. I think you would be better off going with a seperate pump and drive system, the RTV does not have the flow, oil tank capacity or the cooling for a high duty cycle like a splitter. After 45 minutes of use the oil in my Speeco is plenty hot and expands quite a bit. Have heard of problems on early RTVs, I think some of the tanks were plastic?? The 1100 that I have has a little better set up where they got a pump drive off the engine and a big metal tank under the seat, but I still would not abuse the RTV by hooking a splitter up to it.

Your right the factory pump won,t have the gmp for a splitter, Kubotoa does offer a bigger pump but for the money i myself wouldn,t go that way, My 900 will dump a 800 lb round bale like nothing but the hyd cly is low volume
