RTV 900XT TROUBLESHOOTING

Hello all!
I just acquired an RTV 900XT 4X4 DIESEL. Not sure but I'm guessing it's around 2015 model. Father in law just passed and it's ours now. Just beforehand, the RTV was stolen and recovered a few days later. It was found stuck in the mud; so I can only imagine how it was treated. There was a problem with it when recovered, unsure, but I think it was a starting problem. It was taken to the dealership where it was purchased new and they did about 3k worth of repairs. Machine now starts fine and motor seems to run and idle just fine but it definitely is much, much slower than it previously was, AND if you're familiar with this machine, that's saying something. In addition to the speed issue it has no power. It will hardly pull itself uphill. Any ideas of where to begin looking?

Slower often more power with hydro trans.

There is or was a separate throttle kit to control rpm to maximize certain functions.

Maybe the linkage needs adjusting?

Full pedal is generally the least power and we almost never use hi range in the farm…

Check to see if the rear brakes are releasing fully.

Hydrostatic trannys rob quite a bunch of power. Depends were you are in the power curve, its something like 10 to 30%.

If I just spent $3K in repairs my idea of where to begin looking is at the dealer who repaired it.

Fuel filter is in hard to see spot. If they got water in the air cleaner it may really slow it down. Does it smoke a lot like not getting air, or clean like not getting fuel? I got my 2012 900XT up to 28 down a steep hill a few days back, and pulled a full load of hay bales out of a field, up a good slope into a hay shed last night despite woeful neglect for 11 years.
