The other day my RTV left me stranded 3/4 of a mile from the house. I walked to get the tractor and boosted it off. The battery checked out fine after a long slow charge so I took the alternator (Denso) off to have it tested. It needed brushes so $30 later I was back in business or so I thought. When I went to put it back on I found that the wires in the plug were almost broken in two and need replaced.

I need to find a new plug with a short pig tail to reconnect everything but can't find one anywhere. Anyone know the name of this plug and where to find one? It has two female spade connections in a tee shape, one horizontal and one vertical surrounded in plastic. I had a picture of it but can't find it a the moment.

G'day try the place that had the brushes or most auto elecs should be able to help you.
Failing that you could just crimp on a couple of blade terminals to the wires and fit up to alt that way to get you going, just make sure you put the right wire on the right term

Couldn't you just connect the bare spade lugs onto it temporarily. THe insulated ones would be perferable if they will fit but if you can get the bare lugs in and in the right place it should work. A glob of silicone sealant on it for insulation after connection would be as good as the original plastic.

Hard to believe that your Kubota dealer cant order that part of the wiring harness but then again, maybe not, have to order the whole harness likely as not.

something like this is soooo aggrivating.....how many hours do you have on the RTV, am just wondering when I should start looking for a similar problem.

I just called my parts guy, special order 3-4 days out AND..... $47!!! Not gonna happen. I do appreciate your finding it though.

As much banging around as I do it would be very temporary. Imo the plug just latches the connectors into the alternator and also keeps mud out. Well and keeps you from hooking the wires bass ackwards.

I never even called the dealer, I know better.

I know it I always break stuff one can get or ever heard of. I'm just a fuzz over 500hrs. It'll be 2 years this Fall. It is mostly used to build fence, check cows and haul 50gal of diesel and my tools durning hay season, so its not been a easy 500hrs on the old girl.

I'm closing in on 100 hrs...but I'd think that this broke early at less than 2 years...wonder what dealer would say....you could find out...don't HAVE to get something from them, might see it as a warranty item...never know....

G'day the plug looks intact, you can remove the lugs and most auto shops/elecs will/should have the lugs to fit back onto your wires and snap back into the plug.

That is exactly what I ended up doing today. I had to splice in two short pig tails to make up the length but it worked out great. I did finally find a replacement plug online but I had to have it fixed today.
