RTV fuel gauge

Local dealer told me they're looking for a new manufacturer of the gauges due to all the quality and fogging issues and said they'll replace the fogging ones once they get the new ones in.

Based on what chief5 got, looks like they're still using the old mfgr.

For those of you with speedo's, does yours seem different than the rest of the gauges? Mine has a different font and back-light than the rest. I'm guessing it's made by someone else.

Dargo - I'd better return mine fast!! I only get fogging when it gets wet /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I get to watch my temp gauge do nothing and fuel gauge bounce from E to F (don't watch too long, it'll put you in a trance)

The new (working, but fogs up) gauge was made on 7/10/04. Also noted the new gauge gets pretty warm to the touch (from the back). Not sure if the old one did. )</font>

I'm pretty sure all these gauges get warm and they may be part of the reason they fog up. Anti-fog lens with these gauges should do the trick...I'm sure Kubota is working on this with their gauge vendor.

What a pleasant surprise today.
The service dealer showed up with new gauges! And they look
like they work!

My wife had called about them a while back. The diesel gauge actually works now.

Maybe if I can get some seat time in, I can get a report on the manufacture and model numbers.

Great to hear Mike,

Although mine aren't as bad as others, it's good to hear they're coming. Dargo won't know how to act looking at white needles instead of a pair of white eyes on his dash.

Dang... now that I think about it, I don't recall which of mine was bad. It only happens to mine when washing the machine. OK, did a search and believe it's the fuel gauge. Mike - do you have the speedo on yours? I now also remember the backlight on the speedo is different from the other 2. Wonder if the new gauges have the same backlight as the speedo this time.

Well, I went throught all the trouble of loading up my RTV and took it to my dealer last week to get my "new gauges". Complete waste of time! Not only do they still fog up, but now my fuel gauge does not even work!! I wasted 2 hours of my time to go backwards. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Yoohoo, Kubota people, any clue on when working gauges may be available for the RTV's??? I'm just really annoyed because I could not install them myself, and had to haul my RTV all the way across town and back just to get gauges that not only still fog up, but now do not work! Grrrrr!!!

I realize that there are first year bugs, but I've been trying to get gauges for literally months now. I took my RTV off of my property on a trip today for the first time and almost had to push it back to the trailer because the new foggy gauge does not read the fuel level properly. At least the last gauge worked when you could make it out! I like the RTV, but my patience and confidence in Kubota is starting to wane. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

It is interesting how I've heard about 1st year bugs. I was told that the RTV was in production in Japan for several years before it came to the states so that it's been around but not in the states.?.?

It was never mass produced in Japan...some prototypes were made there. This is the first year of mass production of the RTV.

Does anyone know if there is one of those 'secret warrantys' on the gauges? My fuel gauge is completely dead but the machine is way out of warranty. Did anyone else get their gauge replaced by Kubota out of warranty? They are installing the driveshaft rattle fix for me next week.
