Has anyone here purchased Kubota's glove box (P/N V4234) or the underhood storage box (P/N V4235) for the RTV 900 or 1140? I want to have some in cab storage and would like some opinions on these. Specifically, I can't find anything on dimensions. I talked to my dealer about it, but he seems unable or unwilling to find any info. I'd like to see them before buying, but to see them, I've got to order them, to order, I've got to pay up front.

I use canvas sacks and a small bucket under the hood (free), and a little cargo thingy up in back that I got from Cabella's. The bucket and sack are the 90% solution.

i have both the glove-box and under-hood unit -- both work well and are used frequently!

Thanks for the responses. They both are expensive for what you get, IMO. For what these machines cost, Kubota should be able to include them from the factory. I'll probably wind up getting both.

I also use canvas bags from Harbor Freight. I use electric ties to attach them to the rear screen. Also use under hood. Right size bag stays put just fine.

No, this is the box:

Kubota RTV Front Accessory Box V4235

I like the bag and bucket ideas, but I want to put a winch snatch block kit in the box, and with all the stuff I've added to the kit, it probably weighs 15-20 pounds. I don't know if the kit will physically fit in the box. I think the box could handle the weight, though. I haul the kit around in the bed now, want to quit doing that, it's always in the way.

Whoa, nice box.

I havn't solved my under the (500) hood issues either. I have a fire extinguisher mounted, a military 1st aid kit and a tire repair kit "zip-tied" to the tubes. I am looking for a small 12v compressor to mount. My front $15hook is rated @ 4K pounds, the higher rated hooks were 40 bucks. I put my winch leads into a german mil gas mask bag, its in the cab on rainny days for now.

No way to see it but I cut a tiny "V" where the fire extinguisher rests
to keep it in place.

Well, I love this thread; I like to modify new or old equipment without compromizing the structural integrity.................

I got to brain-storming today and I come up with a tool box for under the hood of my 500. Basically, from the side it will look like one of those "do not disturb" placards that is placed on door knobs.

I put a lead pencil to the 1/2" cdx plywood tonight. I will butcher up the wood tomorrow and getter assembled.

The gyst of it is that it will hang on the horizontal 1 1/2" tube and rest on the fender wells.

The driver-side box is planned to be 8" wide, 6" high and 12" long (OD).
The passenger side has the glove box so it will only be 4" high.

I'll get er done and post some pics, would PM anyone that wants specifics. The box will easily hold the 12volt compressor I picked up today.

Maybe somebody can copy it and make millions.........;)

I like that idea. Is this sort of what you have in mind? My son made this in wood shop. The ends kind of look like what you described. Picture the wooden handle being replaced by the tube frame of the RTV and the box hanging off of it. Have to cut some slots in the ends for that. Screwed together, it would be able to hold a fair amount of weight. Put a hinged top on it to keep stuff from falling out; zip tie it down to prevent movement. Might go butcher up some wood myself, or put my son on it. He's already a better carpenter than me. :D

Well I finished the driver-side box. I was able to fit the compressor, a pint of slime, the winch hook and the 1st aid kit. I couldn't make the hooks on the top work so I cut them off, moved the box in position from below and secured the top with 5 screws. The holes for the 1 1/2" pipe were cut just shy so the top would fit tight.

Its "hangn in there"

Nice box, your son is a lot better wood-worker than me.

I made one under the hood out of wood... There are two holes with threads which I used as a starting point & just built it using sheet rock screws... It worked great...sad thing is I just traded my 900 in for an 1140 so now I have to build another one...

Military surplus ammunition boxes are readily available at gun stores cheap; steel, waterproof, handles, strong latches, multiple sizes.

Olive drab color only.

I keep one in the bed filled with my chainsaw tools and spare cutting chains.
