RTV-Leaking fuel cap

Mine leaked badly until I added a second gasket. One from a jerry can type worked fine. Just dont twist it on too hard. Mines a 2004 so the warranty is long gone.

I had the exact same problem... the neck on the tank at the top at the threads had a small defect... Dealer replaced it just took a week or so to get the new tank... since then no issues...

I complained obout my cap being hard to remove. There is a new cap that says "diesel fuel" on it that should be given to anyone free of charge at least mine was. Mine was so hard to remove that I had to use a hugh pair of channel locks, and it did leak a few times.

I was having the same issue with my RTV. I stopped by my dealer yesterday and he gave me the new cap. His understanding was that Kubota was aware of this issue on numerous RTV units and that the new cap is Kubota's first attempt at solving the leaking issue, however he said that Kubota may issue a recall on the tanks but he has not heard that yet. For what it is worth, he said that he has given out a number of the new caps to RTV owners and it appears that the new caps solve the problem.

I had my tank replaced, and this fixed the problem for a little while but it is now leaking again, just enough to annoy me. I called the dealer on the new caps he said he will check in to it and to call him monday. Does the new cap look any diffrent then the other cap?

New cap says "diesel fuel" in white letters on it, whereas the old cap had no words.

If your diesel cap does not say" DIESEL ONLY" it is the wrong cap. Most dealers are not aware yet of change. part number is k7561-34150. Even the new machines dealers are getting have the wrong cap on them.

Called my dealer, he is sending me new cap!! hope it works so tired of leaking fuel. already had fuel tank replaced hopefully this will fix it.

where did you get the second gasket?

We had the same problem with our 2007 RTV900W6. The original cap seamed to mismatch the threads on the tank. We bought a replacement from Kubota and the new one seals fine. Bad run of caps maybe??
