I am very happy with our rec. model rtv. After 40 hours, a problem that I am experiencing, not read about hear is, a noise when the steering is turned. Best to describe it as the noise you may hear when the wheel is turned too far to either side. A subdued screach sound, just enough to be annoying. It was first noticed at about 10 hours. I checked the fluid level and it had dropped by about 2 quarts. After adding fluid it has stayed at correct level. This sound happens through the complete range of steering wheel travel. I am calling dealer today. This must be isolated to this machine, as I'm sure there would have been much written here about it. Also a heads up, to keep an eye on the tail pipe to muffler canister area. On ours there is appearing a small crack around the pipe to cannister area. It has not been backed into, but appears to be a metal fatigue? area or a weak link.Perhaps a quick fix with JB weld? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your RTV.
Can't really help you on the steering issue. Mine acts/sounds a little different when I first start out on cold mornings or when I'm carrying 1500# in the box. Both circumstances I would consider normal.
I did hear something about cracking in the exhaust but it was on a dealer only web site (I was looking over his shoulder). Again, sorry... no info to offer.

Thanks bczoom.
I have been on and off again this site and LOVE it! Bought my first tractor in 1999(b2710) because of what I learned here. From 99 to present, most of the 20 implements, tractors, farm related projects, and now the rtv- have been bought or accomplished utilizing the knowledge I learned here. Guess its about time to say thanks to everyone for the help you have given me.! Hands down, this is the greatest tractor going, which is why I have reccomended to many others and keep coming back!

Dealer has not heard of any muffler related problems, but believes warrenty will cover it. Same for power steering problem. This they will look at. Decided to let them do 50 hour service, and take care of warrenty issues such as fuel/temp. guage replacements at same time.

Keep on your dealer.
Have them make note of your issues. Many of us are having similar issues (i.e. gauge fogging issues). Warranties expire but customer notes/complaints don't. There seems to be a fair amount of first year "bugs" in the RTV. I was at the dealer today but with really no issues. I inquired about the mods made (cable for seat, radiator cover, spark arrestor) but that's all new stuff and isn't stuff they'll give up for us early releasors...
See my other posts. The dealer heard about the rust on the grill guard and gave paint. They're reasonable. Just work with them.
