I am convinced in my mind that the RTV is one of the most durable and powerful utility vehicles currently out there.

What can I expect to pay for the machine and options with regards to MSRP?

What size of trailer will I need if I put a plow on the front?

All tips and suggestions are welcomed.

How many accessories are you putting on your RVT?

I think I want a plow & flood lights - maybe a winch.

Is Kubota offering any incentives or special financing at this time?

Thank You

Yooper Dave

Dave,

I'm pretty sure current price is in fact MSRP.
As for financing, check Kubota's web site. Traditionally, the financing for the RTV is different than the tractors.

The RTV just fits in a 5x10 trailer. We'll need lloyd123 or flyingn (the only 2 I know of that have plows) to give you a total length with plow. I'd venture to guess a 6x12' should do it.

For options and accessories, that's a personal preference. Some of us have put a lot on them but I haven't seen any 2 setups that are alike. Some are setup for a lot of plowing and winter stuff and have the cabs, heaters, plow, spreader...

Others have been modified for more off-road capabilities and have lift kits, bigger or more aggressive tires...

Mine has all kinds of "stuff" and is set up to be kind of a "jack of all trades". From personal experience, I'd start with or recommend:
cab light
cargo box light
windshield
winch
maybe tires (depending on what you get with the RTV you select).

As for where to get accessories, I found going aftermarket for non-OEM related things the way to go (lights, winch, tires...). If you're going with a cab, there is a couple aftermarket places but so far, I think the OEM is the best although much more expensive.

Here is a pic of my RTV so you can see some of the accessories I put on.

My RTV is a few inches over 10 feet without the blade. It will fit, very snugly on a 5x10 trailer. When I put the blade on, it extends the length 3 feet. You will need a 14 foot trailer to haul the RTV with the blade mounted.
I have a Ramsey winch mounted on mine and would not be without it. The winch does not interfere with mounting the blade, but limits the use of the winch with the blade on. I use my RTV to blade the rock on my 660' drive and it does a good job. I have used it to do light back filling on trenches, so I use the blade year round, a very useful attachment. I have a full cab and heater and love it. I was blading snow in 10 degree weather wearing a tee-shirt. A very good machine!

Sorry Dozernut. Forgot about your setup when I mentioned the plow. Still don't think I've seen a pic of yours...

Hey, no problem! I raised teenagers and I am practically bullet proof now (or insane /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif).
I posted several pictures in the thread, I finally Got My RTV900. Also posted pictures of the RTV with the 589's mounted, do a search in the archives to view the pictures.

Here's a web site for Alderman's Kubota in Michigan:

http://www.aldermans.com/Kubota/kubota_RTVpricing.html

It has a java script enabled price list that lets you mix and match your options. It gives you a MSRP plus the price with their discount. I don't know if your local Kubota gives the same discount but if Alderman's is giving it maybe some others will match it.

Edit - Sorry, didn't see the part about overall length. I'll take a measurement.

<font color="black"> </font> The length of the RTV with a plow is about 12' from the plow to the tailgate. I didn't include the snow deflector in that measurement. If your trailer allows for overhang then the distance from the plow to the back of the rear tire is about 10.5'.

Edit - Sorry - again I didn't read the whole post until after I posted this and then read that Dozernut lists the length as 14'. I don't know why he measured two more feet than what I measued. His might be from actual experience with having to put it on a trailer and knows what will fit. I just used a tape measure but I don't think I was off that much.

I tried my 5x10 trailer when I purchased my RTV. It fit tight and the tires rubbed the side rails. If that doesn't bother you then that size trailer will work. However that tight fit bothered me and I bought a 6x12. It fits great with room on the sided. Hope this helps. Fred,

lloyd123
If you go back and read my post I said 13'. You can borrow my bifocals if you want /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
I did go from the snow deflector which added a few inches and I rounded up. I would rather have a little too much trailer than not enough.

Lloyd,
thanks for the link to Aldersons ... that gives me a good feel for what I'd be paying in Michigan. I'm just putting together my "wish list" since it looks like I now have "permission" (I think /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif)
Several of you folks seem to have the plow .... what tires are you using when plowing snow? I was thinking worksite model ... are the WS tires ok for plowing? How are they in mud? And what about weight? Anything needed to augment the standard weight - chains? weight blocks? - when plowing?

thanks

pete
