Hello All,

Thinking of getting an RTV.
Leaning towards a hard cab, any reason not to, besides $$$?
How do you turn on the wipers and front work lights on an RTV. Assuming you don't get the console?

Is the front plow lift control in the cab somewhere?

Probably over-analyzing, as usual. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Thanks,
Neil.

The wiper(s) have a switch built into the unit itself. If you install two you'll need to adjust so they don't wipe in the same area.

The lights need to have a switch installed - you can drill a hole through the plastic dash where you'd like. There are some unused plugs that you could use as well. The more options you add the more holes you'll have to make.

The plow lift switch is installed in one of the extra rectangular holes already in the dash on my RTV900.

Thanks George.

Does this mean I have to "synch" the wipers up when I turn them on? (Guessing turn one on, then wait and turn the other one on?) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Did you ever get the second wiper? Was one good enough to see the whole plow?

Thanks again,
Neil.

I've got both wipers - they each have a different part number - the driver's side parks to the left when off and the passenger's side parks to the right. They each have their own switch and, from my observation, they run at slightly different speeds so they can't be synchronized - they will eventually hit each other if there's any overlap in the coverage.

Having just one wiper on the driver's side left me with an obstructed view to the right when the rain/snow was heavy.

Dealer installed my two wipers and they never hit. I would think that once installed right you shouldn't have to worry about them.

Hard cab versus soft cab is preference. The heater will keep both warm. And in the summertime the soft doors are easier to take on and off, but the plastic windows can and will scratch over time.

The wipers work best when connected to the console since you can wire them to the same accessory switch.
