Matt, Tom & Stonehaller,

Thanks for all of the suggestions on how to get the max intended performance out of this machine.

I put the unloaded max RMPS at 4010, it was 3650. I had to buy a microprocesser contolled timing light that relieved me of a Ben Franklin to do this, but it was worth it.

Then I adjusted the servo screw out 1.5 turns.

Before, it would bog down when I hit the gas on a flat surface, now I have immediate thottle response and it takes off!!!:D

I ran it up the steep hill in high range that would require me to pedal it four times to get to the top. Now, I only had to pedal it once, and that's with a 200#+ snow plow hanging off of the front.

It's like a totally different machine now. It's still doesn't behave like a CVT, but it's close. A little more tweaking might get me there.

I can't wait to try it on the hill climb in the woods that foiled me before. I could get up there before, but barely.

If anyone is going to try this, remember that it's not a 5 minute process. There are numerous steps to go through, and you can't skimp on any of them or you are wasting your time. Also, have a pair of Mechanix gloves around or you will get burnt.

Again, thanks guys...You took a disguntled Kubota owner who was ready to trade it in, and made him happy.:D:D:D

Matt,

Could you add a few pictures of the "servo adjustment." I'm new enough to the RTV world that I don't want to mess things up and my dealer would rather sell me a polaris then help out. Thanks again for all the help that you have provided for the group. I love the machine, but the lack of power on the hills is evident on my unit as well. Thanks.

Just below the passenger seat there is a stud sticking out of the servo with a regular screw slot on the end that is held down by a 14mm jamb nut.

The servo is the black thing on top of the tranny that has a swing arm attached to the throttle cable.

To get more runnability under load, loosen the jamb nut and back the screw out 1 turn at a time until you notice the difference. 1-3 turns seems to be enough. Too much and the stud will fall out. Make sure you tighten the jamb nut during testing and at the grand finale.

Might want to up the RPM's too, depending on where yours is right now...Different process.
