RTV900 Hydraulic Dump line

One of my lines to the dump cylinder sprung a leak.

How to replace? Is there a relief bleeder somewhere that I must drain?

I need to get the bed up to do it. I guess I will need to ensure it is properly supported while working on the line.

This is one of the original 2004 models. A G designation I think.

Thinks sure came a long way for them.

Get the bed up and locked in place. The pressure relief was done by the blown line. Take the hose off that needs replaced and take it to a hydraulic shop/ parts store/ equipment dealer and have them make up a new one. Reverse the process and check the oil level

Do you know how to relieve pressure on that cylinder?

I would say it’s relieved when the line broke. But when you get the bed up and secured, work the dump lever back and forth a few times. That’s all I can think of

my RTV900 has a support arm piece (about 6" long) that is stored at the frame under the bed with a lead wire and pin. if you have one, you unpin and place on cylinder so bed will not come down.

The fact that you can manually lift and lower the bed when not running indicates it doesn't hold pressure when the engine is shut off. As noted above, there is a bracket attached to the arm to keep the bed from falling once lifted. Take the old one to your local hydraulic shop and they will get you fixed up while you wait.

Duh....you would think after 16 years of ownership I would know this machine. But it is turn key and go for me.

Me too Riptides. Mine is virtually trouble free. Those are the machines that seem to get neglected the most.....

I've hauled many, many, many tons of materials on mine. Most dependable workhorse I own.
