RTV900 Loosing power

I have a RTV900R and I have noticed it is slowly loosing power, is there something I need to adjust or look at to get the power back? It is a 2004 and all maintenance has been done as required, the only thing I havent done is clean the muffler out. I'm not really sure how that is done??
