RTV900 whoaaaaaaa

anyone know the cure for the sudden whoaaaaaaa of the RTV900 when you
let off the accelerator? if i had a windshield, i'd have a bump on my head.

Yeah, just let off easy. You'll get used to it. It's just like a hydrostatic lawn tractor, but just on a bigger scale.

gives you a nasty turn for a while doesn't it - you will appreciate it when you want to stop on a hill - but you do need to ease off slowly - and wear your seat belt. it won't stop the noise but you won't go over the top.

My dealer give me the option of disconnecting mine. But he said, he'd bet I'd would be back to connect it back really soon if I did so. I left mine alone, and after a few hours of use, I learned to love it. The Engine Brake, It's worth it's weight in gold.

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago when I drove one. I figured it would stop suddenly so I tried it out. I wasn't going to fast, but I bet if you were it would be a real experience!

This may not be the best thing in the world for your brakes, but I use my left foot to stop the RTV before I let off of the gas pedal completely. Gives me a really smooth stop. I only use the brakes for the last 1 mph or so. My guess is that no one could ever wear out the brakes on one of these machines anyway.

Don't know about the brake pedal, but if you will learn to just ease back on the fuel everytime you stop. It will become a habit. And you will not even notice the engine brake after awhile ~~~~~~~~
