I thought I would post a little feedback on the rubber edge I installed on my rear blade for snow removal. I have a ashalt drive. We have had a couple of snows, 3-4 inches, to try it out. It works well. When I first installed it I didn't think I would like it. On dry pavement or a very small amount of snow it tends to skip along and vibrate. Now that we have gotten a little more snow it doesn't do that. The edge has a squeegge affect and it helps scraoe of the slight imperfections in the drive and get the snow off. I have also filled some cracks over the years and I am hopefull it won't pop out the crack filler like the steel edge has been. I have also found out it doesn't seem to matter if you run the snow over first. It still cleans the snow off well. In other words, I haven't found the need to plow the snow backwards.
I have also learned some tricks for using the rear blade. You learn where the edge of the blade plows compared to your front tires. Now I rarely have to turn around an look at it. The only problem I can see with a rear blade, it looks like snow would go over the top if you had more than 6 inches on the ground.
