Mate of mine up north was having a snooze on Saturday afternoon and was woken when an old Massey Ferguson complete with slasher drove through the window of his bedroom !!

Tractor was stopped by the concrete block wall of the house but only after it pushed the window in and sprayed the room with power steering fluid.

Took an hour or so before the owner showed to claim it.

It had been sitting on a large vacant alotment next door and some kids were playing on it and found the key that had been "hidden".

They started it and it got away, driving out onto the road and turning back towards the house.

Lucky no-one injured.

I hope to get some photos soon.

Scary stuff !! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Scary stuff is right!
Kids are drawn to play on tractors. You have to be sure they are secured.
Looking forward to any photos you can post.

Ive got a friend that logs and he asked some kids on 4 wheelers to not ride the logging road because of lack of room for a log truck and atv in the same trench. Later that night i heard timber breaking over and thought well they mabe working late. The next mornin there big Cat Skidder was missing and a big 250 yard trail was walloed out in the scub woods. We found it with the door glass out of the locked cab and the spare key in the ignition. the blade hadnt quite cleared a terrace and it was spum down with a stick of wood on the accelerator. Took all day to dig it out. from then on everything had only one key on the job. If theyd hadof aimed it or it not spunn down it would have ended uo in the middle of a neighbor hood or the highway. the next day the kids though it would be nixce to tell the logger how much fun it was till there parents got the bill on damages.

Kids are pretty much alike, no matter which corner of the globe you call home, aren't they? The 'secret key' is just too much temptation.

Most of the kids that survive to adulthood outgrow such foolishness, but then there's no explaining why a few of us continue to act as we do!

Seriously, glad to hear no one injured.

By the way, how is your new little one doing, Neil? A boy, I think, must be over 6 months now.
