Has anybody ever run their bx out of fuel? I haven’t yet but was wondering if you run it out of fuel then add fuel do you have to prime the fuel system. If so how do you do this? Or will it start right back up?

The manual for my B7510HST has a few paragraphs on bleeding air out of the fuel injection system if you run the tank dry. I assume your BX manual has something similar.

I haven't had to do this yet, but it seems pretty simple from what I read in the manual. IIRC there's a bleed valve in the fuel line for this purpose.

You don't
want to run it out of fuel .
If you do you could have to bleed the fuel lines .
This should be covered in your owners manual.

Yes i ran my 23 out of fuel.was digging on a slope had half hr left, nearest diesel, that sunday was 20 miles. The gage wasnt on empty, but like i said was on a slope.I STUPIDLY CRANKED IT A COUPLE TIMES,HOPING IT WOULD PICK UP ENOUGH TO GET ME ON A FLAT.It was one long ride to get diesal, all the while dreading having to bleed every thing.Idumped in a couple gallons andafter 3 seconds ,it started and ran fine.VERY VERY LUCKY WASNT I!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gifI!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I checked my B7510HST manual. I was wrong. There's no bleed valve in the fuel line. According to p. 65 to bleed the fuel system you fill the tank with #2 diesel, start the engine, run for 30 seconds and stop the engine.

Kubota engines with electric fuel pumps have an

EASY-TO-MAINTAIN FUEL SYSTEM

The water separator, fuel filter and fuel tank clean out port are conveniently grouped under an easy access cover. Kubota features an electric fuel pump, which eliminates the need to bleed the fuel lines if you run out of fuel.

See web page which mentions this feature in relation to one of Kubota's compact excavators. I couldn't find any info about electric fuel pumps on Kubota tractors.

Not a problem if you run out. I have run my 23 out a couple of times. Sounds real ugly when it fires back up, but there is no bleeding involved. CHeck your manual.

I have run out a few times, nothing more than filling her up, letting the pump suck some fresh fuel, and it starts right up. BX2200.
