Well,
Our tractor rim finally rotted out beyond operability.....(If that's even a word)

So, we happened to find a replacement rim at the junk yard.
In repairable condition.

I'll have to cut those brackets off, and weld them inside the new rim.

Enjoy the pics....

There you have it.
Repair on the cheap....
Gave like $20 for the replament rim.
Lucky to find on the right size....

Hopefully I'll be posting more farm repairs soon.

PS. 3 guys with 20/20 vision could not detect any runout in the tire while driving, for a 2500lb tractor that can't even go 8mph, I'm not worried about it.

I admire your ingenuity and craftsmanship.
Congrats.

I also own a Mitsubishi (Satoh kin) and needed to reconstruct my front rims.
As a base I used 12" trailer rims and had new centers laser cut to match up my hubs.
I got away with $20 for used rims and $55. for the laser cut centers and then used early Honda Civic 12" tires completed my front replacements.

The next challenge is to find new 18" turf tires as Goodrich no longer make them nor does any one.

Nice job, that was a lot of work. Shows why it pays to get those leaks fixed before it’s too late.

Very nice and clean work. Necessity, and frugality, are the moms of invention!

Yes, You're a fortunate man indeed. I only wish we had a "used tractor parts" vendor in my location. People around my area only seemed to by "new". I'm probably in a small minority that would buy a used tractor part. Too much money in my area (high salary jobs). I never made the cut on that. I've seen some bare flat rims ($100-$120) for the 10" X 24" size on my Jinma tractor sold new and I would have to add the loops just as you did. I'm still good on my rims though as I've never ran liquid ballast in my tires. bjr
