When I had millinggs, I'd use my Yanmar PTO rototiller to loosen it up running in reverse, then use my 8' York rake to smooth and crown it. Only problem is that now you have a superhighway, so teens, delivery drivers and neighbors coming over run at high speed. Couple of well place 2x4 in then solved THAT problem.

That's the problem! We have lots of deliveries and residential traffic. Some of those guys get up to 50 or 60 mph and then brake hard just before pulling onto the street (that's where the worst of it is). Can you expand on the 2x4 thing you did?

Had a similar issue but it was rutting as opposed to washbaording.
We used a pulverizer on it and that worked great. Every few years we added a maintenance layer to it as well.

Your pulverizer didn't get beat up due to the hardness of the asphalt millings? I though pulverizers worked better for dirt and looser material.
