The right one is working fine but the left side leaks slightly and it seems to not respond well especially when cold. The tank has plenty of fluid. Any ideas. Can you rebuild those things?

Also, a loose drive belt will affect the LEFT side more than the right, due to geometry. Do a search under my user name in this forum only - somewhere I posted my experiences and a work-around for the square drive hole (you can't get to) for changing belts.
IF you can't find that post, let me know HERE - I'll see if I can either find it or re-post my fix... Steve

Had a similar issue with the drive on my Huskquvarna ZTR but with no leaks. It was a loose bolt that holds the drive pulley on the spline of the hydraulic motor, causing that side to slip. Unfortunately by the time I found it the spline and pulley were ruined thus costing $800 cdn. I now check both drive pulleys every spring
Did you ever get your problem fixed? I have an RZT54 that recently had the same problem. I changed the hydro filters and fluid and now the mower is like new again! I would recommend trying this before you tear down anything.
If you have zt2800 hydros like i do, there is one filter per pump inside of a little plastic cover that has to be removed. My covers were packed with dirt and grass.
