Mowing RZT 50 sporadic PTO enagagement

Recently, my RTZ 50 started experiencing sporadic engagement of the PTO. I've traced it back to the position of the left-hand controller. It was a nagging thing until this past week - now it will engage only when the left-hand controller is in the "near neutral" position. Push forward on it at all and the PTO disengages. I've looked for loose connections and don't see anything out of the ordinary.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2005 model, been garaged since day one.

I would pull the left cover off and check the PTO switch wiring for possible breaks or chaffed insulation causing a short. While you're in that area check the reverse cut out switch. Also it could be the reverse switch on the right side causing it since both switches have to activated in the reverse position for it cut out the PTO.

Thanks OM. It was the left reverse switch. I just used a wire to cross the connection and voila. we're runnig again.
