S-670D oil plug

was looking to see how much oil was in the transmission today... so i unscrewed the oil plug next to your left foot and a whole bunch of oil came spewing out... isn't this the fill level plug and shouldn't have oil coming out like that? should start to come out once it gets to the fill level? The plug seems to be the same spot on most satoh tractors for the fill level of the tranny... am i wrong?

OK - starting from the beginning. Welcome to TBN and this forum - kane. If what you opened is the fill plug hole - then certainly your tranny is probably over filled.

However - prior to jumping the gun - - get yourself a copy of the owners manual for your unit. You might even be able to download a copy from the internet. Go from there or perhaps an owner with direct knowledge will show up here.

Thank you oosik.. i have the parts manual, repair manual, and owners manual. No where in any of them tell you where the oil fill levels are... tranny or hydro.... kind of annoying

For some strange reason - that does not surprise me. There are a few functions that my tractor has that never showed up in my operator's manual either. Primary item - my engine is turbo - owners manual is not. Plus any and all little tid-bits that go along with a turbo engine.

So its down to somebody who knows or contact your dealer.

Neighbor down the road bought a new Ford tractor - couple sizes smaller that the 1710 I had. They had to mail his Op manual to him - pictures are nice, text is all Japanese or Chinese.
