New member here... and this forum is fantastic. I just purchased a S650G (with FEL) and I'm starting to do some much needed maintenance. I have a few questions that i have not been able to find answers for on here or anywhere on the internet.

#1 - I'm replacing the front tires (they are beyond shot) and after removing the wheels from the hubs i discovered that the bearings are well past their useful life. I was able to get a part number on the bearings #30206 and i can source them locally at napa. I havent been able to get part number for the grease seal that goes on the back side of the hub (mine is destroyed so i cant really use it to compare).

Has anyone done this repair recently and have any advise or the part numbers they used? I am hoping to do this tonight... so trying to get the parts locally. I will order from Valley if thats my only option... but I would think that the seal would be fairly generic like the bearings.

#2 - I'm replacing the alternator with an autozone 50amp (import model) based on some other info i have read on the forums and Satoh resources. For $39.99 at Autozone with a lifetime warrantee i cant really beat it. Part number 14196. I also sourced a new wire harness for the alternator while there... it was part of an adapter and i will just cut the unneeded end off and wire it based on the diagram. The previous owner said the wiring had been damaged when the harness fell out of the alternator and melted on the exhaust.

Has anyone done this repair recently and have any advise

#3 - i'm looking for advise on other maintance that I could/should perform asap. I will be doing a basic tune-up/oil change this weekend, but anything beyond that is still pending as i look for additional things to fix.

Thanks in advance to everyone on this forum that is/has provided such good information so far...

After a little bit of work... "Rusty" (my S650G) finally pulled out of the garage last night. New Alternator & wiring harness, new belts, new front tires & tubes, new front wheel bearings, seals... and some general maintenance for the old tractor.

Next I'm going to do a little serivceing on the 3-point and see if I can improve the lift.
