SA324/424 mowing opinions ?

To the group,

Looking at a SA 324/424 to do double duty as a garden/mowing machine and would like some opinions on mowing with the MMM, not wanting to start a zero turn or other mower -vs - MMM sub compact tractor discussion just looking for opinions on quality, speed and comfort when using a SA machine.

I am also interested in this topic. How well does the SA324 mow with the MMM? Is it very maneuverable?

It's as much about terrain as anything else. Any SCUT with loader, MMM and operator about will weigh over 2,000 pounds. That's a lot of weight on most 'better' lawns. They are slow if you have to be in Low gear like I do and they're not particularly maneuverable around obstacles and close to buildings. They're faster in High gear, but the ride is nothing to brag about.

All that said, they do mow well in the right circumstances, but I don't feel they will replace a dedicated mower. I just spent a half hour on mine in between sessions on my X-300.

Can’t help on the mowing part but as far as the tractor, I have a 424 any really like it. 130 hrs and so far no issues.

I replaced my cub 2544hd with a 424 I’d I love it I remove the fel and mow in low it’s as fast or faster that any skid steer mower and turns on a dime I filled tires with fluid and it rides much better I do not have ag tires

Ended up purchasing a 2018/19 SA424 with loader and MMM and so far so good, seems to mow well and has plenty of power.

Ordered a OEM block heater kit for the engine to make some copies and resell so if any of you 324/424 and (221 ? Owners) need a new uninstalled OEM block heater kit let me know and let’s work something out.

Made some adapter blocks that mount to your engine, so if any of you need this part let me know and I will send along a new PTFE gasket and the proper hardware so you can mount. This will also fit John Deere equipment as well.
