Although it's in the manual, this puzzled me for a while today. While hooking
up my backhoe after using my box scraper the engine cut out. Plenty of fuel, oil, etc. It turns out that a small stick wedged beside the backup pedal. Maybe the engine stalled, then wouldn't start. Because the pedal was engaged, a safety prevents the engine from starting. I was about to call the dealer for help, then found the mention of the safety in the manual. Just in case someone else experiences this I hope reading this will save time.

I've had similar experiences with my BX2350.

Soon after getting it home I noticed it hesitating or even stalling when in reverse. I eventually realized that since the reverse pedal was close to the seat, pushing down on it transferred enough weight off my butt to open the safety switch under the seat. This is the switch that kills the engine if power is sent to the wheels while no operator is in the seat.

The spring action for that switch is provided by a bent steel plate. Mine had two plates stacked making for a very stiff spring. Maybe they put two there on purpose but removing one of the plates allowed the switch to function properly.

Just recently, I parked the tractor in the middle of the driveway and when I went to move it again, it would not start. It wouldn't even try although all the electrical systems came up with the key in the run position. This time it was the switch that closed by the PTO lever. I had to hold the switch down with my finger to convince the starter motor that I didn't have the PTO engaged. Since then, it's been working fine even though I haven't adjusted anything.
