Chipper Salsco 627 Manual Feed Question

I am going to look at a USED Salsco 627 on Saturday morning and am wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the drive train in it. Is there a drive belt involved to increase the flywheel speed? I was unable to find a parts list online but I really would like some info about it before I lay eyes on it. Any info or opinions on this model are appreciated.

Salsco are made down here in Ct and are a really well built product. To my knowledge they are direct drive (from what I've seen at my dealer) but they may have options. A few locals near me have them and have nothing but good things to say. They're a bit spendy new so if it's the one I saw online it's priced right. Be sure to post pics if you get it.

The 627 is direct drive,I just phoned my friend who has one.

I have a Salsco 627xt, which is the hydraulic feed version. I have been pleased with its performance so far. The unit is well made and works well. My use has been to chip up mostly alders. Some of which have been fairly large in diameter. It is a direct drive unit (no belts).

I think you are going to be very happy with that Salsco chipper. It looks like a very good fit for your 3320.

Awesome be sure to post pics when you get it. I'd really like to here how it handles hardwoods at capacity.
