Salt-Box Firewood Bin

Here are some pics of my latest project. A salt-box style firewood bin. Construction is with 4x4 PT, 2x4 PT and 6' PT dog-eared fence boards. Nailed and screwed together with 3" Grip-Tite coated screws. It gave me an opportunity to try out my new DeWalt 1/4" impact driver too. Man, it will flat sink a screw in short order. My wife likes it too. She finds less problems with the bit stripping the heads.

That would also make a great fuel shed. Set it off away from the expensive toys and put all my flamables in it.

we built a really big version (6x12 or so) for a full firewood shed, except we spaced the fence boards about 2-3" apart to get some air flow.

with large overhang it still keeps the wood try but lets it continue to dry out.

we opted to use pallets on the ground as you can remove them to sweep out the firewood crud that collects

I've gotten plenty of suggestions from the guys at work. Kids school bus shelter, out house, my dog house etc... I found out I didn't build it big enough though..
