This may be Consumer Cellular and Samsung specific.
Due to the turn off of 3G I was no longer able to place/receive voice calls over 4G with my Samsung A20 which has LTE. Called Consumer Cellular. Was told to turn off and on a litany of things, nothing fixed the problem. Told a rep would call me back within 2 days.
Finally hit the web, found:

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and then tap the Settings icon.
2. Find and tap General management.
3. Touch Reset.
4. Tap Reset network settings.
5. Tap the Reset settings button.
6. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern.
7. Finally, tap Reset.

problem solved.
There goes an excuse to upgrade my phone :(

Some of the GPS products no longer work to connect to 3G for triangular location and the satellites.

ET can not call home anymore from the 1980s.

Wife and I had to upgrade our phones. Ended up switching carriers at the same time.

On our phones everything would work except phone calls.

Spent 12 hrs with tech support trying to figure out what was up.

That's when we decided to switch from straight talk. Had the issues figured out in about 20 minute at the ATT store.

We ended up continuing with the switch though.

As a nurse, my wife qualified for their plan with first net. Her phone will work anywhere. It also gave us a substantial discount on both phone plans. So it worked out pretty close to what we were paying with straight talk.

Wife and I had to upgrade our phones. Ended up switching carriers at the same time.

Well I had not delved into all the possibilities before I contacted tech support at CC. But I first tried a phone call and a very helpful tech spent about a half hour or so trying different things, rebooting, turning data on and off etc. Then I was told they "elevated it to a higher level of support" and someone would call me back within 48 hours because they expected it to be fixed.
Well when I contacted them after about 48 hours via "chat" the NON helpful tech told me basically tough manure we will contact you if it's fixed. I was PO'd.
And frankly I was surprised after about an hour of googling to find the solution I posted and it worked.

When at the ATT store they checked settings, realized the phone wasn't capable of volte. Took maybe 20 minutes

We took advantage of the trade your phone in for the free S22. Like I said, wife qualified for first net as a nurse. So it gave us about %25 off our phone plans.

They overnighted the new phones so I was hooked up within 48hrs, wife had to wait till Monday for her phone.

The added bonus is we can get in front of someone if we have an issue instead of waiting on hold for tech support.

We were with straight talk for about 9 years. After the latest experience, we won't be back.
