I am going to buy a tractor soon. I have 5 acres on a hill. 3 acres of grass and very long steep driveway. We live in Northern Maine where we have an intergalactic amounts of snow.
My dilema is making sure I'm buying the right size and type of equipement. I know a zero turn would be a better bet for mowing but when the snow flies it's useless. I beleive that blowing snow with out a cab is brain damage. (correct me if I'm wrong). I probably only need a 30hp tractor but it seams like the smaller you go the less they have cabs on them.
I'm thinking of either a
TC40 - smallest tractor new holland currently offers a cab on. Would this tractor mow three acres at pretty good clip with a 72inch 3 point mower?

Or if I thought I could get by without a cab the dealer has a new L4400 HST.
Has anyone bought a little bigger tractor then they needed and regretted it? Or do you thank God every day for having a bigger machine?
I currently mow the 3 acres with a craftsman 52 inch lawn wannabe tractor.
