On December 24th I completed the purchase of a L3430HST, LA723 Loader with QA HD Bucket w/ toothbar, BH90 Backhoe and BG5 Bo Dozer Grapple, 2 remotes, LP Box Scraper and a few other odds and ends including 2 hats /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
Thanks to all who have posted comments, given advice and answered questions on TBN. This information has certainly shaped my tractor buying experience. I probably wouldn't have purchased the backhoe and tooth bar without various TBN discussions of these attachments. You really DO know how to spend other people's money /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif. I'm looking forward to retirement and a move closer to our Oregon timber property as well as landscaping a second property with our new (to us) home.
I'll be moving to Oregon (The Land of No Sales Tax) so the dealer will deliver the tractor directly to Oregon thus avoiding the Washington sales tax. Unfortunately, if I play with it in Washington I'll have to pay sales tax /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. If I bring it back into Washington after Oregon delivery I'll have to pay Washington use tax /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif, so the tractor may sit for a few weeks until I can take delivery. The dealer will assemble my new tractor just prior to delivery. I have a document with a serial number and a picture of me standing next to a box full of tractor /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif!
I could have purchased the tractor in Oregon and I did talk to several Oregon dealers with equal or, in one case, slightly better deals. However, I have enjoyed working with the Washington dealer on work related equipment and service and they are not that far away if there is a service issue. As many have said, "go with a dealer you trust" /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Thanks to all and have a great Holiday Season!
